    Accommodation

Experience total freedom in your own bush house in the heart of the Masai Mara Conservancies. Animals stroll right past the front doors of all three of these private sanctuaries, and you have total freedom to set the pace of your own safari escape. Located in two spectacular locations in the celebrated Mara ecosystem, Mara Bush Houses are ideal for those who want the freedom to set the pace of their safari escape. Each house boasts a rich East African heritage and style, and is ideally suited for families and small groups; a true home away from home in the heart of the African bush.

Mara House, Acacia House and Topi House, are all exceptionally comfortable – although there is no resident host, a full complement of staff takes care of your every need in our Masai Mara accommodation. Each house accommodates six people in three double rooms, so they are ideal for couples, families and groups. Even better, you have the freedom to personally design your own itinerary. With detailed personal service, home-from-home hospitality and unequalled wildlife expertise, a safari at any of our Mara Bush Houses is a unique and exclusive adventure in the Masai Mara.

Open lawns offer a wilderness environment for children to inspect the smaller life while the independent pool that you will be sharing with your next-door neighbor at Mara Acacia House has a shallow kiddie section. There is also a school room close by filled with toys where children can spend time while the adults relax in between game drives. You will have the whole 3-bedroom house to yourself during your private family safari vacation in Africa, complete with its spacious living room and plush sofas to relax in. The house also has a dining section and a fireplace where the discrete staff lights a fire every evening that lends a warm, homely ambience to the cool, hillside nights. Light curtains and blinds cover the wooden framed windows, reminding you of country home while ethnic rugs thrown around add to the feeling of barefoot wellbeing. Rough tree trunks form the framework of the house and substitute for railings creating a delightful pastoral appeal, and when you awaken each morning, you can open the windows to allow the equatorial sunshine to pour in along with the scented aromas of the wilderness. All three bedrooms have private bathrooms complete with shower area and a sunken stone bath. The house is powered with solar panels and a backup generator, and you can charge the electronics in all nooks of the house during your photographic travels in Masai Mara National Reserve.

An exclusive staff tends to your needs from laundry services to cooking flavorsome meals, presented with utmost care. You have a range of dining venues around the Mara House and each has a special charm to it. Have breakfast and lunch on the patio or al-fresco in a clearing of the lawns. Dinners can be fun-filled family events in the indoor dining area or in the open under sparkling stars lighted with traditional lanterns. Or one evening, you could even have a barbecue dinner in the open veranda or by the pool, a distinct family experience where the child will reminisce of their siblings-parents bonding holiday in Kenya. When you are ready to go exploring, a custom-built safari vehicle will be placed at your disposal and the experienced guide on board with regale you with his in-depth knowledge of the wildlife of Masai Mara Reserve and the traditional folklore that has evolved around it. Share his enthusiasm for the sights, sounds, scents and sensations of nature as you accompany him on nature walks where he will show you the wonderful natural elixirs the Maasai make from the local flora. You could also visit his village for a live demonstration of the process of making fire, milking cows, delicate bead jewelry crafting and more.
