The lodge lies in the path of an ancient elephant migratory route between the Aberdare Ranges and Mt Kenya National Park and is strategically positioned in front of a natural watering hole making it a haven for lovers of elephants and buffaloes. Every evening, buffaloes and elephants make for a spectacular view while drinking at the waterhole. Every room at Treetops is fitted with a buzzer for the animal lovers who would want to be alerted when there is game at the watering hole.
The entire Lodge is fitted with large windows and visitors can view game from anywhere within the building. The view deck is strategically located in a semi-open area, and is the best place to view animals as visitors down their drinks. Built on stilts, access is through a gradual ramp to the top floor and has an indigenous tree growing right through the building. Upon arrival, the resident hunter escorts visitors to see the magnificent flora and fauna present around the Lodge.
